Varlink introduces Datalogic’s DL-Axist rugged Android PDA

York-based mobile computing and data capture specialist distributor, Varlink, has announced the launch of DL-Axist, a rugged Android PDA with a brilliant full touch 5" HD display and 2D imager from Datalogic.

This industrial-strength PDA has a 5" HD multi-touch screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 display for longevity in harsh environments. IP67 rated and a 1.8m / 6ft drop to concrete with the optional rubber boot, delivers investment protection.

Equipped with an advanced 2D imager, the DL-Axist provides quick and easy data capture from high density codes at standard range distances. Datalogic's patented 'Green Spot' technology is also standard for visual good-read feedback as well as a 5 MP auto focus camera with LED flash ideal for evidence documentation.

The DL-Axist features Datalogic SoftSpot, a user-definable 'floating soft trigger' which can be located at the most comfortable position anywhere on the screen and programmed to execute almost any task, allowing a new scan or camera triggering experience for the user.

Powered by Android, this fully featured device is the first in the industry to have MIMO technology for superior throughput and coverage from its Cisco CCXv4 certified 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi radio. Outside the four walls, the 3G/4G delivers real-time wide area voice and data and Enterprise Class Assisted GPS for location-based applications. Also included are Bluetooth® Wireless Technology (v4 with BLE for beacons) and NFC for quick and easy configuration and pairing.

The DL-Axist is ideal for retail applications such as assisted sales, merchandising, stock management, field force for outside the four walls use or as a Manager's device.
