Socket Mobile, Inc., provider of mobile productivity solutions, has announced the upcoming availability of a new addition to its 2D barcode scanning product line - the Socket Bluetooth Cordless Hand Scanner (CHS) 7Qi, a small and sleek wireless barcode scanner for the Apple iPad, iPad mini, iPhone and iPod touch. The scanners also support Android and Windows devices.
The new 7Qi has similar performance standards and features of Socket's current ruggedised 2D barcode scanner, Model 7Xi, but uses the same colourful housing of our other CHS models. The 7Qi is attractively priced at an MSRP of $429 and Euros 393, making it highly competitive in the 2D scanning market. The 7Qi is available in red, yellow, blue and gray. These colourful barcode scanners enable businesses to enhance corporate branding in retail point-of-sale (POS), field sales and service, and other customer-facing applications needing both 2D and linear barcode scanning capabilities.
Chosen by global POS leaders and independent developers alike for their mobile POS solutions the CHS product range is quickly becoming the barcode scanner of choice. Besides enhancing retail branding, the new colours make the scanners easy to find in store aisles or other busy work environments, enable developers to bundle a cohesive hardware and software solution, and allow personalisation of devices among users.
"As retailers transition from traditional cash registers to mobile POS systems, there is increasing demand for smaller, more stylish barcode scanners for employees to use while interacting with customers on the sales floor," said Vince Coli, product manager at Socket Mobile. "With demand for 2D barcode scanners increasing we wanted to offer a product which was competitively priced yet maintained the rich feature set which Socket Mobile has become well known for. In addition retailers invest a lot into creating attractive shopping environments that complement their corporate identity, and Socket Mobile's colourful new barcode scanners enable businesses to not only improve customer service and store operations, but also reinforce the hip, modern in-store experience that today's retailers strive for."
The 7Qi is 100% compatible and fully supported by the current SDK , so any customers who developed for the 7Xi can move to the 7Qi without changing any software and benefit from the brighter colours and lower prices. More information about the Software Development Kit (SDK) can be obtained at: http://developer.socketmobile.com/
The Socket CHS 7Qi will be available from Socket Mobile's worldwide distribution channels and online at: http://www.socketstore.com and http://www.socketstore.eu from late October, 2013.
