ScanSource Europe, Motorola Solutions and Tradecom partner to test product solution in live environment

ScanSource Europe, the value-added distributor of barcode, auto ID and POS products, teamed up with one of its key vendor partners, Motorola Solutions, and software developer Tradecom to develop a solution using the Motorola ES400 handheld device that would enable customers to test the resulting solution in a live environment. The participating customers were all winners of a ScanSource-Motorola incentive campaign.

The ES400s were configured with IMS by Tradecom, a customisable and powerful track-and-trace software application primarily used by transport and logistics companies. The team was joined by some of ScanSource's top reseller partners and sent to Prague to be immersed in a city game.

Tradecom's tailor-made software utilised all of the ES400's functionality, allowing teams to make and receive calls from central command, receive new instructions by push message, trace the position of objectives and use the ES400's GPS functionality for directions, as well as take and send images to verify objectives. Alongside the testing of the software, the city game also enabled the group of resellers to learn more about how the ES400 works and what it is capable of.
