fixITlocal goes on the road to highlight opportunities for resellers

The fixITlocal network is staging a series of events around the UK giving resellers an opportunity to hear about the full range of benefits that are now available to member companies.

The roadshow will also see the first live demonstration of fixITlocals new Service Module, which enables vendors and maintenance provider partners to make full use of the fixITlocal network to deliver new opportunities to subscribing resellers.

The roadshow is also being supported by distributor Micro Peripherals, which will announce plans to make a series of exclusive offers available to fixITlocal resellers.

John Carter, Managing Director of DMSL, which runs the fixITlocal network, says that the roadshows will be useful both for current resellers and potential new recruits. We are continuing to develop the fixITlocal network, bringing new ideas and initiatives to the table and steadily building up momentum. Many of our active members have already seen significant benefits and there is much more to come.

Carter notes that for the relatively small investment that they are asked to make the potential benefits are considerable. The roadshow will ensure that resellers are fully aware of everything we are doing,  understand how to make the best of whats available right now, and hear more about our exciting plans for the months ahead.

Resellers will also be updated on the developing revenue opportunities BT is providing around ICT and mobile solutions and its latest broadband and voice services at the events. Fixitlocal believes that proximity resellers will continue to play an absolutely vital role in meeting the needs of local SMEs, says Carter. Its vitally important that partners servicing local markets understand how to articulate and deliver the benefits that these products and solutions deliver to smaller businesses both in terms of enhancing efficiency and delivering real savings at a time when all firms are looking to counter the effects of the credit crunch as rising energy and fuel bills.

IT products distributor, Micro Peripherals, will also outline details of a series of special offers for fixITlocal partners. Micro P has already worked with fixITlocal to provide its members with a number of exclusive offers and there is much more to come says Sales and Commercial Director, Paul Bryan. Weve enjoyed considerable success with fixITlocal partners so far and over the coming year were planning to deliver many more exciting and exclusive opportunities to them. Its a formula that works for everyone involved.

The new fixITlocal Service Module automates the process of allocating and managing call-outs for vendors and maintenance and support providers that want to make use of the fixITlocal network to respond to call-outs across the country. Several such agreements are already in place. The Service Module enables these partners to quickly identify a suitable fixITlocal partner that is located near to the customer and offer and subsequently allocate the job to a specific reseller. For fixITlocal resellers this will deliver more potential business opportunities on top of the benefits they already receive.

Resellers who attend the roadshow will also hear details of new extended warranty insurance and disaster recovery agreements that fixITlocal resellers will soon be able to offer their SME customers. With availability of systems and business continuity increasingly becoming a concern for smaller- and medium-sized enterprises, these services will create even more potential opportunities for fixITlocal resellers. Further details of these services will be announced next month.

Through its own promotional activities and various agreements with vendors and service providers, fixITlocal is already bringing significant new business to the doors of member resellers. In addition, it provides them with access to regular and exclusive offers on products and solutions.

It also provides quality assurance and credibility though its alliance with the Professional Computing Association (PCA). All members of the fixITlocal network are members of the PCA and are signed up to the trade groups Quality Assured programme. In addition, fixITlocal members can take advantage of a fast-track scheme which enables them to become fully Cerco-accredited within six months.

Over 600 resellers throughout the UK are currently members of fixITlocal. Through its various marketing and promotional activities, fixITlocal brings new business to the doors of resellers from local firms that need expert help and IT support. Visitors to the fixITlocal web site can find their nearest reseller very easily through a post-code look-up facility and dial them directly.

The roadshows will take place during September in Bristol (Ashton Gate), Birmingham (Villa Park), Manchester (City of Manchester Stadium), Glasgow (Hampden Park), and London (Wembley stadium). Resellers interested in attending the roadshows or finding out more about the fixITlocal network, should call DMSL on 01708 776 005 or register on the web site at www.fixitlocal.co.uk.
