Wavelink Corporation and Datalogic Mobile have announced that Datalogic will pre-license Wavelink emulation and management software on its mobile devices. This marks the first time a major mobile device manufacturer is shipping devices with a pre-licensed management solution.
With pre-licensed software from Wavelink, Datalogic Mobile customers receive, at no additional cost, leading software for managing the devices and connecting them to host systems. Wavelink Avalanche will come pre-licensed on all Datalogic Windows CE devices while Wavelink Emulators will be pre-licensed on select models and pre-loaded on all other devices. Datalogic Mobile customers will receive technical support for Wavelink applications as part of their standard support agreements.
In looking to provide additional value to all our customers with key applications already installed, integrated and licensed, it was only natural that we would partner with the industry leader in device management, said Francesco Montanari, Datalogic Mobile Vice President & General Manager. Our customers have come to equate Datalogic Mobile devices with quality and reliability, and we are confident they will have the same experience with the Wavelink applications.
Datalogic Mobile is part of Datalogic, the third largest manufacturer in the world and leader in Europe for bar code readers, data collection mobile computers and RFID systems. Wavelink is the market leader in mobile application development and management software with more than 3.5 million clients deployed worldwide and software shipping on more mobile devices than all of its competitors combined.
Wavelink President Lamar Van Wagenen said, When Datalogic Mobile customers purchase mobile devices they are now ready to manage those devices right out of the box to increase productivity and efficiency. Wavelink far surpasses other vendors in partnerships with its software shipping on devices from more than a dozen manufacturers, including the three largest.
Starting September 1, 2008, Datalogic Mobile CE devices are shipping with Wavelink Terminal Emulators and Avalanche pre-loaded and/or pre-licensed.
Founded in 1992, Wavelink Corporation is the leading provider of multi-vendor mobile application development and mobile device and infrastructure management software. Wavelinks technology solves the unique challenges involved in deploying, managing and controlling auto-ID data collection (AIDC) systems and RFID, and facilitates peak performance from frontline staff. Wavelinks emulation product family is the industry standard in providing host connectivity solutions. More than 8,500 companies in the retail, manufacturing, government and logistics industries rely on Wavelink to accelerate application delivery, reduce device management and support costs, and tighten network security.
