European distributor of rugged handheld computers creates subsidiary focused on North America
Handheld Europe has expanded into the US market with a new subsidiary, HHCS Handheld USA, Inc. (Handheld US). The company is located in Corvallis, Oregon and will be led by President & CEO Dale Kyle. Kyle most recently was the rugged handheld product manager for Tripod Data Systems (TDS).
The growth of rugged computing in the US is strong as companies expand the use of computers outside traditional office environments. These companies are increasingly seeing the need for rugged computers for their workforce, said Kyle. By offering a wide range of quality rugged products and partnering with key value-added resellers, we can offer winning solutions for enterprises deploying a mobile workforce.
Handheld US is offering rugged PDAs, handhelds and tablet computers including the TDS Nomad, Recon and Ranger handheld computers as well as the Handheld Algiz 8 tablet computer and M3 Mobile PDA.
The Handheld group of companies has experienced exponential growth within Europe over the past decade due to our focus on building strong partnerships with our resellers and targeting markets that are ripe for growth in the mobile enterprise sector, said Jerker Hellstrm, CEO of the Handheld group. Were sure that by combining Dales experience in the US and Canadian markets, a broad range of rugged products and our focus on partner relationships well have a compelling offering.
In addition to Kyle, Handheld has recruited Mike Zelman as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Handheld US.
