International POS printer manufacturer, Star Micronics, has once again set an industry first by developing a unique, stand alone Queue Management System for its TSP700 thermal printer.  Requiring no additional software or PC, this cost-effective system provides a flexible, easy-to-use solution to queue management.

The TSP700 is a high speed barcode, label, ticket and receipt printer that is capable of printing 180mm/second with a throughput rpm of 39 receipts per minute.  Providing the option for colour output and to print receipts or tickets using paper stock up to 0.15mm/150gsm, the TSP700 is both versatile and feature-rich.

A key advantage of this printer is its unique AutoLogoTM feature that enables the instant creation of effective marketing coupons and vouchers specific to user-defined purchases.  Using WindowsTM graphics, AutoLogo is easy to use and enables promotions such as special offers, seasonal sales initiatives or stock related projects to be initiated and stopped instantly, without the need for expensive software changes.

The new Queue Management System now available with the TSP700 can produce automatic sequential numbering on tickets.  As this wall-mountable printer uses an in-built function to automatically generate paper receipts or tickets with sequential numbers no additional software is required.  Furthermore, the system provides the opportunity to promote selected products or services to customers through the facility to add logos and coupons to tickets.  Each ticket may contain a coupon detailing a different product or service.  Once the information has been configured it can be stored on the printer thus eliminating the need for a PC and, in turn, creating a completely stand alone Queue Management System.

The number and variety of applications of such a flexible solution are endless and not just limited to the retail sector.  For example, at the delicatessen counter a particular product may be promoted as customers wait to be served while government offices and financial institutions can use such a system to inform visitors or customers about new products and services.

As Annette Tarlton, Marketing Manager EMEA, Star Micronics states, Star Micronics has once again demonstrated its leading position within the POS marketplace by developing a unique, stand alone Queue Management System that has applications across a wide range of industries and geographical markets.
