Anglia Business Solutions' New LINKFresh LABELCheck application could save retail suppliers thousands in mislabelling fines

Major Productivity Gains at Gs Marketing following successful Pilot

Microsoft Gold Partner Anglia Business Solutions today announced the general availability of its new LINKFresh LABELCheck application to work with any Microsoft SQL based solution. This is a powerful mobile QC and label checking software application designed to reduce the risk of product mislabelling.  Major supermarkets are imposing fines of up to 50,000 per incident on detection of incorrectly labelled goods.

The LINKFresh LABELCheck solution dynamically checks labelling information against the original order details. Failures are quickly detected upon scanning the label and electronic alerts automatically sent to key personnel via SMS or email. Whereas previously the system needed Anglias LINKFresh Foundation Module to function, it can now be fully integrated to any Microsoft SQL based back end solution. LABELCheck is deployed using the latest mobile hand held devices. It is ideal for suppliers who need to perform QC testing in the field where produce is packed and shipped directly from source, either in the UK or abroad.

The number and type of tests to be performed can be configured centrally to cover any seasonal or product specific testing that is required depending upon the customer.  Test attributes include Picked from Location / Country of Origin, Destination Customer, Description, Label Colour, Best Before or Display Until Date, Class, Min. & Max. Weight, Packaging, Red Tractor, UK Flag or Green Leaf Mark.  RAG (Red, Amber, Green) Testing can also cover Chill Damage, Pest Damage, Disease, Soiling, Dehydration, Uniformity, Scuffing, Product Length and Excessive Water.

Anglia has already successfully implemented the LINKFresh LABELCheck solution with Ely based salad supplier Gs Marketing Ltd.  Terry Potter, Group Systems Manager for Gs, comments: Implementing the mobile LINKFresh LABELCheck solution has significantly improved accuracy and productivity in our QC department. It quickly automated tasks that were becoming impossible using manual systems. The benefits of using this impressive application are already evident

Richard Jones, Development Director at Anglia, comments: The problem in fast moving consumer goods is that when errors are picked up, the time lag between detection and responding can be considerable. Information is frequently captured on paper and then subsequently entered electronically. The inherent time lag means that by the time an error is detected, the goods could be delivered to the customer with significant consequences. LINKFresh LABELCheck is a robust real-world application designed to be used by non IT people. Using our unique DataMaker tool set means that it is now possible to integrate and support the application with any Microsoft SQL based back end system. The Gs Marketing deployment is an excellent example of this technology in action.
