AIIM Europe has announced that 52% of visitors to the AIIM Roadshow 2006, which toured the country from May 8th to 12th, have not yet implemented a significant document or Electronic Content Management (ECM) project or have implemented just one or two projects at departmental level. Over 60% of attendees wanted to understand what was possible with ECM, with many saying that their visit has pushed forward potential projects their organisations.

Reflecting recent research that predicts the continuing upward trend in adoption of ECM, 19% of Roadshow visitors indicated that they have more than 200,000 to spend on content and document management projects in the next twelve months, and 21% control expenditure of between 50,000 and 200,000.

Attendance at the AIIM Roadshow 2006 was 24% up on last year, with strong support across all five UK locations. Following the theme Unravel your document processes, the event was supported by over 40 of the UKs leading ECM suppliers and covered all aspects of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) including scanning, forms capture, document management, e-mail management and content management.

Im delighted to report that all the feedback were getting is positive, says Doug Miles, Managing Director of AIIM UK. Visitors found the event to be highly educational and useful in terms of making contacts. The exhibitors are delighted with the level of projects uncovered, particularly in the public sector.

The Capture Centre sponsored by Headway Technology proved to be popular, with many visitors queuing to have samples of their own documents and forms scanned and processed, and then loaded to USB stick for further hands-on demonstrations. There was also considerable interest in the new AIIM classroom and on-line educational program, reflecting a wish by ECM practitioners and professionals to further enhance their skills.
