Softek TDMF Software Used for 10th Consecutive Year by IBM for Non-Disruptive Data Migration Software in Heterogeneous Environments

Softek Storage Solutions, the leader in non-disruptive data migration solutions, today announced that the company has expanded its participation in IBMs PartnerWorld business partner program to the Advanced level.  The company also announced that it is celebrating its tenth anniversary of supplying IBM Global Services with the Softek TDMF data migration software as an essential tool to move customer data to IBM storage arrays, particularly in heterogeneous environments.

Over the years at FPL, we have used TDMF on numerous occasions to non-disruptively move thousands of volumes to newer DASD subsystems, said Wayne Clark, storage administrator at Florida Power and Light.  We have migrated data during prime shift with no impact to customer applications or online response times.  IBM Global Services provided the expertise to allow us to accomplish a difficult task at reasonable cost, while maintaining data integrity.

Softeks Advanced level participation in the PartnerWorld program was the result of successfully demonstrating that the companys enterprise data mobility solutions are installed at customer sites running on approved IBM hardware with IBM middleware, as well as a significant commitment to IBM technologies.  The new level is greater than Softeks previous Member-level participation, and was achieved by accepting the IBM PartnerWorld agreement.

Our long-term relationship with IBM in data migration has now been enhanced with this new Advanced-level partnership status, said Amena Ali, senior vice president of worldwide marketing and product strategy, at Softek.  Over the past decade, we have helped IBM Global Solutions Information Technology Services teams move more than 1,000 customers to IBM storage while keeping every one of their applications fully online.  Expanding our status in the IBM PartnerWorld program represents the next logical step to enhance awareness within IBM and their customer base so that our relationship can achieve new heights. 

PartnerWorld is a worldwide program for IBM business partners offering sales and marketing tools, skill building courses and technical support to create new opportunities for business growth and profit.  It encompasses the entire portfolio of industry-leading IBM technologies, products, services and financing.  Resources are provided in the areas of selling, marketing, technical resources and support, as well as training and certification.
