Proofpoint Partners with Civica Confirming Industry Expectations

New Channel Partnership Heralds Proofpoints 2006 Public Sector Offensive

Proofpoint, Inc., the leader in large-enterprise messaging security solutions, has joined forces with channel partner Civica, one of the UKs most experienced providers of software and services to the public sector, signalling a combined-sales offensive on the public sector in the new year. Civica will resell Proofpoints enterprise messaging security solutionsincluding the Proofpoint Protection Server software and Proofpoint Messaging Security Gateway appliancewhich help organizations stop spam, protect against email viruses, ensure that outbound messages comply with both corporate policies and external regulations and prevent leaks of confidential information via email and other network protocols.

Civica will benefit from the additional sales support and training offered through the Proofpoints Gold Partnership programme.

David Whitton, head of Civicas security product area, says, Our agreement with Proofpoint means that we now have excellent messaging security products to add to our offerings to Public Sector organisations. In addition, the in-depth training and support from Proofpoint means we can deliver on our strategy of offering real added value to our clients beyond just the product itself.

Civica is Proofpoints sole partner focused exclusively on the public sector market. Civica chose to add Proofpoint to its offerings finding that the companys products offered the right mix of technical sophistication and reliability demanded by public sector customers. We evaluated several different vendors.  Proofpoints solutions installed the quickest, were the most effective against spam, viruses and other message-borne threats and required the least amount of ongoing administration to maintain, said Whitton. Proofpoints solutions deliver a high level of customer satisfaction typically, once a Proofpoint box goes in, it doesnt come out.

Whitton further says, We anticipate that this relationship will enable us to grow our public sector security business significantly in 2006, and over time we expect to see Proofpoints solutions accounting for a considerable proportion of our revenue from security products.

Proofpoints drive into the public sector market in the UK is fuelled though its success in the US where it has provided best-of-breed messaging security solutions to a wide variety of government organisations, educational institutions and healthcare establishments.
