Blackroc set to double rugged printer sales with new partner Zebra Technologies

Zebra signs AIDC specialist distributor to meet demands for robust mobile technology

Zebra Technologies, a global supplier of printing solutions for compliance and business improvement, has announced a new channel partnership with Blackroc a leading distributor of AIDC (automatic identification and data capture) and RFID (radio frequency identification) devices.

Blackroc provides wired and wireless rugged mobile computing technologies and professional services to solutions providers and value added resellers.  Integrating Zebras unparalleled printer technology into its offering will allow Blackroc to provide its customers with market-leading mobile printing systems with a focus on the kind of mobile printing solutions designed to work in rugged environments such as warehouses, shop floors and car parks.

The partnership reflects an increasingly mobile UK workforce, and a rise in demand for robust mobile computing solutions, which can withstand heavy use throughout a range of environments.

With the same level of ruggedisation as the majority of industrial handheld computers, Zebras mobile printers are contained in high-impact casing with
shock-mounted internal parts to endure the high demands of the manufacturing and supply chain environments. For example, Zebra mobile printers are designed to survive multiple drops onto concrete from heights of 1.5 metres.

Zebras products have strengthened our product portfolio and enabled us to create a new set of tools to help our customers take advantage of rugged printing solutions, said Martyn Broadhead, sales and marketing director at Blackroc. As mobile working in the manufacturing environment becomes easier and more widespread, warehouse and logistics staff have begun to demand printers that are robust and mobile. They need devices they can rely on.

Broadhead continued: We believe that this partnership will be key to achieving our aim of doubling sales of rugged mobile devices in the next year.

Signing Blackroc is a big step forward for Zebra, said Ashley Ford, EMEA sales director at Zebra. Both companies are fully committed to development and expansion, and we are confident that this partnership will deliver added value to customers, while strengthening our presence in the channel.
