BigFix responds to growing European demand for better security and compliance

Company delivers real-time life-cycle management for software and security configurations on servers, PCs and mobile endpoint devices

BigFix, a leading provider of security and configuration management solutions for the real-time enterprise, has formally launched its expansion into Europe.

Simplifying endpoint device management operations to converge the security, configuration and systems management infrastructure onto one platform is top of the agenda for CIOs.  To accomplish this, IT departments need to extend their visibility and control to every server, workstation, PC and mobile device within the distributed enterprise, while at the same time expand their view and management of each software element on the device from applications and patches to security settings and virus protection. Focus is on the consolidation and reduction of tools to enable more streamlined, efficient distributed endpoint management.

Colin Gray, newly appointed VP and MD, EMEA, said:  The BigFix Enterprise Suite enables our customers to address this continual drive towards security and operations convergence. It enables them to know faster and fix faster, thereby remediating risks and catching problems before they impact their business.  Our assisted automation means reduced costs and reduced errors, finally taking control of the ever increasing load of disparate tasks that face IT operations and security departments.

Gray continued: BigFix products and solutions have gained a reputation as best-in-class offerings in industry analyst and media communities, and have attracted a growing worldwide customer base among demanding public and private sector customers, such as in the financial, manufacturing, and services industries.  The companys expansion on this side of the Atlantic will strengthen BigFixs on-the-ground support and service abilities in the United Kingdom and Europe.

To broaden its reach in the European market, BigFix has taken a channel-centric approach and is keen to work closely with its approved partners.  BigFix has consolidated its European HQ position in the UK by signing agreements with three UK partners, Pentura, Satisnet and Nebulas, who will collaborate with BigFix and play a key role in maximising its presence in EMEA, just as the company has done through its reseller relationships in the Americas and Asia.

Steve Smith, managing director, Pentura, said: IT departments can really benefit from how Bigfix organises patching, configuration management, inventory and end-point security into one easy to use dashboard, leading to huge cost savings through the automation of lengthy, labour intensive processes.  Pentura sees this as an exceptionally valuable addition to its product portfolio and the response from clients so far has been remarkable.

Gray added: Having already cultivated upwards of 40 customers in Europe, BigFix is the most secure and comprehensive solution for targeting security and configuration issues and resolving them in real time. BigFix is strategic to IT because we deliver a single platform solution for security, software configuration and systems management of all devices across the distributed enterprise, to help ensure uninterrupted IT services and thereby business continuity. For this reason I believe that BigFix fills a very critical need in the market, and our expansion now positions us to provide our EMEA customers with the same superior level of face-to-face attention and support we offer BigFix users in the Americas and Asia.
