Finjan Licenses Computer Security Technology Patents to Microsoft

Finjan Software, the leading provider of Internet security solutions for businesses of all sizes, announced today a patent licensing agreement and equity investment with Microsoft Corporation. Microsoft has purchased a non-exclusive worldwide license for select Finjan patents covering computer security technologies and become a minority shareholder in the Company.

We are very pleased with this new cooperation with Microsoft. Both companies believe that innovative measures are required to achieve greater security, said Asher Polani, CEO, Finjan Software. Finjan benefits from a wide range of patents dating back to 1996. For nine years now, Finjans approach in developing innovative security technologies has proven to be an efficient and effective compliment to signature based security.

The deal enables Microsoft to incorporate innovative ideas developed by Finjan and use those ideas to improve future security technologies.
