Free and easy video conferencing for the thinking computer user

Freeware described as 'advanced video conferencing for the thinking computer user' is set to transform your computer into an interactive group meeting room, taking Internet chat and messaging to a new level.

Marratech-Free lets people meet up with friends or colleagues through real-time video with high quality voice plus an interactive whiteboard. Up to five people can meet, talk, see each other, make notes and share documents or pictures. It runs on Windows, Mac and Linux and its all free.

Said the company's CEO, Lars Persson: "For the first time, real-time collaboration is available to everyone. With Marratech Free, you dont just chat - you talk, see and share, one-to-one or as a group. It takes you far beyond simple on-line chat and messaging."

The Swedish company's licensed software offers a host of special features for business users including application sharing, security and unlimited user groups. The freeware shares its basic features, but brings a 'virtual office' concept to everyone.

It comes with three pre-defined virtual meeting rooms for various bandwidths. Just email a link to friends or colleagues anywhere in the world, and you can all get together for an interactive meeting. Clicking the link launches the meeting automatically without having to manually download software. All they need is broadband high speed internet, a headset and web cam.

Added Lars Persson: "Anyone, students, home computer users, charities and even small business users will find it transforms the way they communicate or work. It is no match for the feature rich virtual office of our corporate or education users, but it will take everyday communications on the Internet to a whole new level."
