Rud Browne of The Ryzex Group Named Finalist For Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2005 Award

Rud Browne of The Ryzex Group was named a finalist by professional services firm Ernst & Young LLP for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2005 Awards in the United States Pacific Northwest. Browne was selected from 40 nominations in the by a panel of independent judges comprised of area leaders from business, academic, and civic organisations. Finalists will be selected in one of seven award categories announced at an awards banquet on June 23 at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel & Towers.

Browne is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and sole shareholder of The Ryzex Group, headquartered in Bellingham, USA. Ryzex specialises in the repair and resale of new and refurbished Barcode, RFID and Wireless Data Collection equipment. Browne founded The Ryzex Group in 1989 in his apartment with $30,000 of working capital. Ryzex currently employs 300+ people in five countries. Browne is a 22-year veteran of the Barcode and Data Collection business and is noted as the creator of the Remarketing and Legacy Support segment of the industry.

Pacific Northwest winners will be eligible for consideration for the Entrepreneur Of The Year 2005 national program. Winners in several national categories, as well as the overall national Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year, will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, Calif. in November 2005.
