DocuLex Announces Goby Capture Version 2.4

DocuLex, creator of document management and image scanning software, announces the release of DocuLex Goby Capture 2.4, incorporating optical mark recognition (OMR), OCR and 2-dimensional bar coding for document profile capture and content indexing.

About DocuLex Goby Capture
A streamlined approach providing distributive (shared network capabilities) scanning with digital copiers/MFPs as well as network-enabling production scanners, Goby Capture allows walk-up and scan convenience with content indexing, archiving and document sharing/distribution capability. The program is ideal for use with DocuLex WebSearch, MS-explore or other document management system.

With DocuLex Goby Capture, intelligent cover page technologies allow documents to be profiled and cataloged prior to scanning. Indexing criteria may be added via optical mark recognition or 2-D bar codes created with user-defined content. This allows documents to be scanned, indexed and organized electronically, then forwarded to the users desktop, file archive and to the document management system.

Goby Capture Profiler opens at the users desktop and is free to distribute among other desktops. With document in hand, the user types in a document profile, then prints the profile with their local desktop laser printer or MFP. The user simply scans the document along with the printed profile form (like a fax cover page). Direct output paths available for network folders, email, printer and FTP addresses.

New features added to Goby Capture 2.4 Profiler include creation of Profile Mark Forms for enhanced document value designations, convenient data entry options via the Data Source section, time saving AutoFill recalling previously-entered field content, automatic Value List additions directly from the Data-Entry View dropdown box, as well as advanced file naming and folder structuring capability.

Goby Capture Monitor recognizes the Profiler cover sheet, fully indexes the accompanied document, names the file then forwards the fully searchable PDF file to the user-defined destination. The destination may be one or many locations, including FTP address, email, printer, network, local folder and the users desktop. The program provides capability to process multi-page TIFF files containing multiple documents separated by Profiler Cover Sheets. The File Transfer feature provides automatic folder creation and custom folder and sub-folder naming based upon document profile values set by the user.

New to Goby Capture 2.4 Monitor is Profile Mark Form recognition for ease of custom indexing and easy sub-indexing of nested document. Monitor now has the ability to output PDF or TIF files accompanied by a CSV or XML index file, providing support for output to all prominent document management systems.

A Software Developers Kit enabling generation of Goby Capture cover pages directly from existing business management software is also included.
