A new series of faster, more intelligent and easier maintenance label printers for the warehouse and logistics sector has been launched by SATO UK.
The GT400e Series are robust, heavy duty machines designed to withstand daily use in busy commercial and industrial environments. New software means they can easily be integrated into existing computer systems and can replace other makes and types of printer without the usual need for extensive reprogramming.
Not only does the range set new standards in data processing speeds (the time it takes the printer to receive the input information), but in print speeds too, added together this makes for a much faster and more efficient label printing operation. There are three basic models for direct thermal/thermal transfer printing at 203dpi (GT408e), 305dpi (GT412e) and 609dpi (GT424e). The GT408e and GT412e print at up to 300mm per second making the GT412e one of the fastest in its class on the market! The high resolution GT424e produces ultra high-quality quality labels at up to 150mm per second.
All models share new easy-maintenance features. Print heads can be replaced easily without using tools. New precision print mechanisms utilise a die-cast metal chassis which eliminates problems with wrinkled ribbons, common with products from some other manufacturers. Not only do the GT range printers take extra long ribbons, but they accept larger reels of labels than has been standard before up to 256mm in diameter - so neither need changing as often, cutting downtime even further.
Operation has been made easier too by introducing larger LCD displays the 7.5cm x 4cm screen is more than two and a half times larger than on many other printers. It carries system messages, icons and graphic displays. An easy- to-navigate menu makes it a simple task to change the printer configuration.
Additional interface options allow easier networking, with weigh-scales and bar code scanners for example. The printers are also capable of being operated as stand-alone units, offering complete versatility for all types and sizes of business.
The GT400e Series are ideal for printing product and tracking labels in the supply chain, stock and component labelling in warehouses or shipping and receiving labels in distribution operations.
