SkyRecon enters UK security market

SkyRecon Systems, the behavioural security software vendor, today announces that StormShield is now available in the UK.

According to the DTI's (Department of Trade and Industry) last information security survey, the average cost of an organisation's most serious security incident was 10,000. In large companies, this was more like 120,000. The impact on systems availability was by far the biggest contributor to this cost, with some organisations suffering disruptions to their business operations lasting more than a month.

Philippe Honigman, COO of SkyRecon, confirms why the security market is one of the major growth areas in the technology market today: "According to PriceWaterhouseCoopers' 2004 study, 93% of UK businesses have virus protection - yet 50% suffered from virus infection or denial of service attacks last year - and experienced significant financial losses. System, network, and application security are now strategic issues for all UK public and private sector organisations. We are happy that they can now be protected with StormShield, our proactive behavioural security solution."

Operating at the kernel level, SkyRecon's patented S.H.A.R.P. technology intercepts, analyses and blocks all dangerous activities at the very moment they are initiated. Complementary to existing anti-virus products, StormShield is designed to proactively protect organisations against all attacks, known or unknown, without any interruption to 'business as usual'.

Strongly present in the French market, SkyRecon already successfully protects major organisations such as Suez Group, Naf-Naf, Danone and Dynapost.

SkyRecon will be present at Infosecurity Europe 2005 in London on stand 6140 to launch StormShield V3.1.
