MCE, the leading distributor of storage peripheral products, today announced the availability of LSI Logics 8 Port Adapter MegaRAID SATA 300-8X, the industrys first IOP-based RAID Adapter with Serial ATA II features. This RAID adapter has been optimised for Red Hat and Suse Linux environments. It was developed for intensive storage networking solutions that need cost effective, scalable SATA RAID interfaces. With a price of only around 290 GBP (plus VAT) it provides SATA II features for a price of a SATA I adapter.
MegaRAID SATA 300-8X offers several new features meeting enterprise storage needs like Native Command Queuing (NCQ) for a faster hard disk access, SAF-TE Full Enclosure Management and data transfer speeds of up to 3Gbit/s per port. It provides comprehensive Fault Tolerance capabilities, is fully compliant with SATA I disk drives and offers a seamless migration path to upcoming SAS drives.
MCE has extended its storage product range with LSI Logics storage networking solutions already in 2003. Since then, MCE has been distributing SCSI and IDE RAID Storage Controllers and SCSI and FC Host Bus Adapters of the American company, which is specialised in the development and manufacturing of semiconductors, in Germany, England and France.
