BLUETOOTH ENABLED HANDHELDS

Radix continues to empower mobility solutions by promoting the value of wireless data communications. Most recently, the company is supporting resellers and customers in their initiatives to implement Personal Area Networks (PANs) between their Radix handheld computers and other peripherals using the Bluetooth standard.

Some time ago, Radix launched an embedded Bluetooth version of its best-selling FP40 printer, but now the technology is being used to drive other technologies including local data transfer with PC based systems, and wide area network wireless data communications. With the inclusion of Bluetooth in its handheld product portfolio, Radix is offering its customers more choice for data communications including integrated GPRS/GSM comms, or Bluetooth connection to a separate mobile phone handset which is used (in conjunction with the FW) as the data modem. This configuration offers the significant cost benefit of supporting voice and data communications with a single SIM!

Bluetooth is now supported in the FW500 Win CE3.0 and FW700 Win CE4.2 .NET models.

NEW MEMBRANE KEYBOARD

The FW700 is now available with a flat membrane back-lit, fully customisable keyboard. We have a 24 key [6keysx4] and a 40 key [8keysx5] design standards. With the unique benefit of the keyboard being back-lit [as opposed to luminescent] these new keyboards are just as easy to use in pitch black as the standard FW700 raised key back-lit keyboard.

These new membrane keyboards can also be fully customised with logos, legends, colours, numerics, alphanumerics, cyrillic, Arabic or any other alphabet.
