Mobile computing and networking expertise hand-in-hand

LXE Inc., a leading manufacturer of rugged wireless computers that improve the performance of supply-chain execution applications, has signed a Solutions Technology Integrator (STI) agreement with Cisco Systems, Inc. Ciscos STI partners are leading manufacturers and technology solutions providers that sell, service, and support integrated hardware, software, and service offerings to end users. These offerings contain specified Cisco technologies as a critical component.

This new go-to-market channel model will help Cisco enter new vertical markets such as warehousing and distribution and other advanced technology markets that we raditionally havent focused on," said Edison Peres, vice president of Advanced Technologies, Worldwide Channels at Cisco Systems. The STI agreement recognises Cisco channel partners, like LXE, who have the ability to sell integrated solutions. Forging these relationships will help accelerate the adoption of Cisco advanced technologies in key vertical markets.

LXE has supported Ciscos Aironet technology across its entire 802.11b wireless product line, including LXEs wireless rugged computers and backbone products, since June 2001.

LXEs products are used in high roaming, industrial environments, and the radio performance of the Cisco Aironet Series in these environments has been outstanding, says Hank Stephens, LXE product manager. Also, Ciscos advanced security features provide the degree of security that our customers want for their wireless networks.

LXE is also Cisco Wireless LAN Specialisation certified. With this certification, Cisco recognises LXE for its knowledge and expertise to plan, design, implement and support Cisco end-to-end Aironet wireless LAN solutions.
