Infinigate, the Value Added Distributors (VAD) for IT Security Solutions in Europe, has taken over a majority stake in the UK IT Security Value Added Distributor Vigil Software.

Infinigate reports that this partnership of like-minded companies is set to increase the growth potential of both companies with the stated goal of becoming the Number One VAD with sole focus on IT Security in the UK, as well as in Europe with a turnover of above € 200 mil. in the next few years.

With subsidiaries in 6 countries (Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Denmark) and a compound annual growth rate of 25% in the last six years (reaching a turnover of € 140 mil.), Infinigate has become one of the strongest, leading VADs for IT Security solutions in its region. With the expansion on the UK market Infinigate now is able to provide vendors with an even easier and more powerful access to Europe's most interesting IT security markets and Reseller Channel.

Vigil Software is a very successful and profitable UK VAD, led by the two entrepreneurs Alex Teh and Murray Pearce. Teh and Pearce will be maintained on the board and continue as directors whilst maintaining significant shareholdings in Vigil.

Vigil Directors Murray Pearce and Alex Teh agree, "We have been looking at replacing our silent shareholders with an organisation that can help us grow our company faster and quicker. Although we have had 33% compounding growth over the last 5 years, we feel that with Infinigate's relationships and credibility in Europe we are better able to achieve our goal of becoming the number one security VAD in the UK." Teh and Pearce add "It was important to us that our current stakeholders, employees, vendors and partners all feel like they are an important part of the natural evolution in our company. Infinigate shares our views on what 'Value' really means for distributors and that our focus on security has given us the perfect platform on which to take us to the next level."

"The acquisition is a key milestone for Infinigate, as with the UK and Germany we now cover Europe's two biggest IT markets, bringing Infinigate closer to becoming the No. 1 VAD with sole focus on IT Security in Europe", commented David Martinez, CEO of Infinigate Group. "It took a few years until we found the right partner in the UK, as many of the analyzed targets did not meet our requirements. With Vigil Software we found our soul mate: same strategy, same spirit, same dedication and same successful development as Infinigate. I look forward to working closely with Alex and Murray".

As both companies share the same focused strategy as a true Value Added Distributor for IT security solutions, no big changes are expected to be made beside the use of substantial synergies.
