SCC has announced the creation of a formal Oracle Practice in response to a succession of key wins alongside its strategic partner. The practice is set to draw together elements from across the business into a more structured and coherent model to help realise SCC's lofty sales ambitions.

As one of the most accredited partners in the UK, the long-term relationship continues to grow with SCC receiving a hat-trick of UK, European and Global Oracle Awards in 2013.

After securing the UK and European Server and Storage Partner of the Year Awards, SCC was further recognised as Oracle's Global Specialised Partner of the Year in Server and Storage, announced at the annual Excellence Awards in San Francisco.

This award was characterised by a notable win in which SCC implemented, supports and hosts a complex 'Red Stack' solution of Oracle Servers, Storage, Database and Apps for an international restaurant chain.

SCC's latest win – catalyst for the newly-devised dedicated Oracle practice – is a large managed services contract with Motability, whose scheme provides a simple way to lease a new car, scooter or powered wheelchair without the worry of owning and running one.

Peter Spreadbury, General Manager for Software and SAM at SCC, will head the Oracle Practice, supported by dedicated sales specialists, and increased pre-sales and Data Centre capability.

He said: "We build high-value platform solutions that meet the most demanding business needs of our customers, and we're delighted to be at the heart of a collaborative model with a partner who shares common objectives.

"Like Oracle, we are keen to develop and extend value-adding relationships where we can lever core competencies to reach markets and customers in ways we might otherwise find difficult.

"We are continually renewing our efforts across the business between our sales and services teams to identify, propose and win mutually successful sales campaigns together."

Will O'Brien, Oracle Channel VP, added: "I am delighted at the continued success between Oracle and SCC. We thank SCC for its commitment to as we look forward with confidence to this next stage of our partnership."
