Company extends its range with release of T700 7” enterprise tablet

Toughshield, the global provider of rugged mobile computers for business, today announces the forthcoming release of its latest enterprise device, the T700 rugged tablet.

Mark Davis, Director – Strategy and Operations for Toughshield states “The T700 is the first rugged tablet to offer IP68, the highest IP rating against dust and moisture ingress, combined with dual SIM and NFC as standard. Additionally, the tablet’s robust 7” Gorilla®Glass screen makes it ideal for a variety of business environments.”

Following on from the launch of the R500+ rugged mobile computer, the T700 is designed to provide the same blend of consumer design and ease of use, combined with enterprise specific functionality and durability, at a competitive price point.

“The T700 is ideal for a range of applications including field sales, regulatory inspection, hospitality and domiciliary care. Running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the tablet includes a range of enterprise specific features.  These include dual SIM, making it ideal for workers who travel, and a programmable hot key button that can be configured for common tasks or as a lone worker safety button.” Davis continues.

“Our channel partners will be able to drive increased revenues with the T700 as it enables them to offer a compelling alternative to the far less robust consumer tablets on the market.  We think there will be a strong interest both from companies looking to deploy tablets and companies that have deployed consumer tablets and have suffered from high levels of damage and are now looking for a more rugged device. The T700 is ideal for both of these scenarios.” Davis concludes.

The T700 will be available to purchase from Toughshield’s distribution partner, ScanSource, from April this year.
