Efficient, cost-effective and environmentally friendly UPS systems for data centre applications from 8kVA to 1100kVA are the central focus for Eaton at this year's Data Centre World Conference and Expo. Alongside the company's innovative enclosure-based Power Distribution Units (ePDUs), 9395 UPS, BladeUPS products, AC busbar systems and protection products, Eaton has also chosen this exhibition to enhance market awareness of its Heat Containment System, which it is offering following its recent acquisition of Wright Line, a leading developer of customised enclosures, rack systems and airflow management systems.

Key to Eaton's UPS solutions is Energy Advantage Architecture (EAA), including optimised output power factor, which reduces the need to oversize, and the incorporation of Advanced Battery Management, which significantly extends battery life. Many models also support the Energy Saver System (ESS) and Variable Module Management System (VMMS), which automatically optimises UPS operation to reach up to 99% efficiency even when operating at lighter loads and without compromising on reliability. In addition, all Eaton UPS systems combine compact construction with an exceptionally small footprint, allowing them to make the best possible use of valuable data centre space.

Several of the units* within the popular Eaton 9395 range of UPS systems (available with ratings from 225kVA to 1100kVA) are now approved for the UK's Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) scheme. This means that users can offset, against tax, the whole cost of purchasing these units in the year that they are purchased. Eaton 9395 UPS systems also offer a wide range of operational benefits and exceptional total harmonic distortion performance, which is achieved without the use of inherently inefficient filters. Also on show will be the BladeUPS's which are designed to provide a flexible power solution, optimised for high density blade servers, and supply 12kW of power in just 6U of rack space.

In addition to its UPS's Eaton ePDUs offer a versatile option to bring power up to the server power outlet, combining smart power management facilities and optional metering with individual protection for branch circuits. The integration of Wright Line products with Eaton's Electrical Sector enables the company to offer a significantly wider and more robust range of solutions to help IT professionals and date centre managers meet the many challenges associated with modern data centres. The new enclosure and air-management portfolio ideally complements Eaton's existing UPS and power distribution offering and will provide the company's customers with enhanced solutions that effectively address key issues in areas that include energy efficiency, thermal management and capital deployment.

To complement its extensive range of UPS products, Eaton also offers AC busbar systems and protection products that provide safe, convenient and efficient solutions for the distribution of AC power not only to the UPS systems themselves, but also to ancillary services including lighting, heating and air conditioning.

Throughout the conference and exhibition, experts from Eaton will be on hand to provide visitors to the stand with advice and guidance on selecting solutions for specific applications, with the emphasis on combining energy efficiency with versatility, durability and value for money.

* Eaton 9395 UPS systems with the following ratings are approved for the ECA Scheme: 275kVA, 550kVA, 675kVA, 825kVA and 1100kVA
