Honeywell International and Zebra Technologies Corporation, a global provider of specialty printing and automatic identification solutions, have announced the formation of a global alliance to market and sell advanced automatic identification solutions. The agreement enables both companies to deliver mobile computing, scanning and printing solutions to an extensive network of resellers and partners in the healthcare, self-service and field mobility industries.

"Zebra's strong brand recognition throughout the AIDC marketplace and its position as a global market leader make it a perfect strategic partner as we build out our product offerings," said John Waldron, vice president of worldwide marketing, Honeywell Scanning & Mobility. "After integrating both Hand Held Product and Metrologic, we have turned our sights to building a global champion. An important part of this growth lies in working with world-class industry players like Zebra."

Globally, this alliance allows Zebra and Honeywell to leverage the strength of each company's network across verticals and regions to create a strong solution-oriented value proposition through many common channel partners. This relationship will expand the breadth and depth of product offerings for both companies and help them identify potential areas of growth, such as access security solutions and access control.

"For many years, Honeywell and Zebra have worked together in the healthcare industry to deliver solutions to hospital operators," said Paul Cullinane, director of global accounts and alliances, Zebra Technologies. "We are extending that relationship to take advantage of the complementary nature of our products, mutual financial and market strength, and global presence to provide our customers and resellers with best-in-class solutions."
