terminalTechnology and service provider Box Technologies will fully update payment terminals at House of Fraser stores. Box Technologies will customise, install and service accredited payment terminals in all House of Fraser stores nationwide.

House of Frasers customer payment terminals needed updating to maintain PCI DSS Accreditation. The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS) is a mandatory compliance standard for all payment service providers. The PCI DSS standard is endorsed by American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB, MasterCard Worldwide, and Visa International.

The PCI DSS standard enforces high levels of security in all areas where cardholder data is transmitted or stored. Robust protections such as formalised policies and procedures, intrusion prevention and response, encryption and security aware development methodologies all contribute to a secure choice for customer payment processing requirements.

Box Technologies is committed to quality and always puts the customer first in all that we do, said Stuart Walker, Managing Director, Box Technologies. We have an accredited quality system that is continuously monitored and updated to ensure all services and products offer the highest standards of quality and reliability. House of Fraser needed a new PCI DSS-accredited payment system and we were able to deliver a fully customised solution that integrated seamlessly with their existing technology. Keeping this equipment in top operating condition helps House of Fraser to deliver the payment services on which their customers depend.

Box Technologies installed a bespoke payment area at House of Fraser stores, comprising a VeriFone Secura Payment Terminal and bespoke SpacePole chip and pin  mount. The Secura payment terminal is a highly secure, easy to use PIN pad that features both magstripe and EMV smart card readers. The PIN pad has a backlit graphical display for easy viewing, large tactile keys that are also backlit, and an illuminated smart card entry slot. The Secura has a privacy shield for added security, is tamper-responsive, and its moulded rubber grips keep it securely in hand.

We are always looking at ways to improve our customers shopping experience, and opted for a new PCI DSS-accredited payment system, said Chris Randall, IT Manager, House of Fraser Stores.  Box Technologies was an ideal candidate for us, as they understood our needs ? from planning, setting and implementing. This new technology will give our customers a bespoke, more secure payment system that integrates perfectly in our stores with minimal disruption.
