Datalogic Memor helps Britain to stay healthy with the Co-Operative Pharmacy!

Customer:
The Co-Operative pharmacy is the UKs number 1 ethical pharmacy, delivering over 60 million prescriptions a year and helping to keep the British nation healthy.  The Co-Operative group is no stranger to innovation and has pioneered ethical trade, as well as the introduction of such innovations as printed braile on packaging.  With their continuing drive to improve customer service and efficiency in store, the Co-Op turned to Datalogic Mobile and their Memor, pocket sized, mobile terminal.

Problem:
Prior to the installation of the Datalogic Mobile Memor solution, the Co-Operative pharmacy had a fleet of legacy devices that were becoming older and less efficient the repair costs were starting to escalate and their was a concern that new innovations in the supply chain and pharmacy world (such as the introduction of the GS1 Databar and new PCI-DSS compliance issues) would be further jeopardised by the use of more aged equipment.

Solution:
Datalogic Mobile and their partner BT expedite worked with the Co-Operative Pharmacy to utilise the In Control light a web based, in-store software application, which had been developed by the Co-Operatives in house software division to manage day to day activites across the 800 store estate.
The co-operative pharmacy has now successfully rolled out over 1,000 Datalogic Mobile Memors, for applications such as shelf replenishment, price markdown (in tandem with a wireless printer).

Quotation:
As Carl Beeston the Applications Analyst from the IS department at Co-Operative Pharmacy explained:
Recently the Co-Operative Pharmacy purchased the latest generation Memor, with its upgraded processor staff have reported that our application runs considerably faster than on our previous device
