ScanSource Europe, a value-added distributor of speciality technology products, has launched How To Make It Happen, a brand new education portal for resellers. The portal, which can be accessed directly at www.scansource.eu/howto, features interactive training presentations in three subject areas: Technology, Business and Operations, and Vertical Markets & Applications.

We have noticed that a lot of valuable content is already available on the internet, on our vendors websites, said Xavier Cartiaux, Managing Director, ScanSource Europe. However, it is located in so many different locations it is unlikely that any single reseller will be able to find everything. So we took the lead in gathering all the relevant material from our vendor partners into one convenient portal which gives everyone access to these centralised presentations. We dont exclude anyone: no login is required.

Interactive presentations with audio and video are designed to make the learning process more interesting and appealing, enabling users to fully grasp what they are being shown and bringing technology to life for sales and technical staff. In addition to watching interactive presentations, users can also profit from presentations and movies on solutions for different verticals.

The benefits of How To Make It Happen reach far beyond reseller sales teams however. The portal is directed at resellers entire staff: the Business and Operations section includes training on operations, financial and marketing topics.

Examples of educational materials which can be found on How To Make It Happen are networking fundamentals, thermal printer basics, mobile computing, bar code basics, effective telemarketing, retaining customers, finance and capitalisation, 21st century network in a 12th century castle (case study), the future of self service (case study) and many more.

Future plans for How To Make It Happen involve creating learning bundles, lets call them curricula, on specific topics, said Cartiaux. For example, an RFID curriculum would include a thorough technology training, an overview and presentations of RFID products and applications of the technology in different vertical markets. The curriculum will also have a library of useful resources, which would give people the opportunity to learn at any time at their own pace.

How To Make It Happen can also be accessed through the homepage of the ScanSource Europe website www.scansource.eu. As technology evolves, the content will be updated regularly, keeping resellers up to speed with all the latest developments in the industry.
