Designed to be an ideal scanning solution for in-premise mobile data collection, the Dolphin 7850 features a water, dust and shock resistant casing, power management, and now three new long-range laser scanning options that bring distant or hard-to-reach bar codes into users hands.

The 7850 is developed for high performance, high endurance, and easy ergonomic operation. Similar mobile computers on the market are typically larger, flat PDA-style devices retrofitted with an add-on grip handle underneath. In contrast, the compact and lightweight 7850 has an upward angled screen for convenient viewing and a comfortable integrated pistol grip that is easy to hold during extended shifts. The rugged chassis, composed of an internal magnesium alloy frame, has been tested to endure multiple drops onto concrete from 1.5 meters and over 2,000 tumbles from 1 meter, guaranteeing reliable operation and durability in retail and warehouse environments.

At Ryzex, we offer a wide variety of best-of-breed solutions to ensure our customers have what they need for their specific applications, said Eric Lazo, Director of Marketing and Business Development of Ryzex, Inc. Honeywells Dolphin 7850 is our recommended solution for scan-intensive mobile computing applications. The new extended range laser scanning options enable us to deliver the superior usability and value of the 7850 to a broader range of customers in markets like warehousing and distribution where long-range scanning is a must.

The three new scanning options available for the 7850 High Performance, Long Range and Advanced Long Range provide usability from five to up to 30 feet, meeting the requirements common in warehouse and distribution environments where bar codes residing on shelves, pallets and loading docks must be read from extreme distances.

The addition of long-range scanning into the 7850 reinforces Honeywells commitment to continually expanding our product line to meet customer needs, said Garrison Gomez, Senior Product Manager of Mobility Product Marketing for Honeywell Scanning & Mobility.

The mobile computer, running Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 and featuring integrated 802.11 b/g WiFi communication, provides real-time access to information between the enterprise and the mobile worker while providing a standardized platform for application development. A variety of Intel processor speeds and memory configurations gives you the choice to use the right amount of computing power. With the incorporated Shift-PLUS power management technology, the 7850 can perform for 10 hours or more on a single charge, allowing complete coverage over a standard or prolonged work shift.
