Five Years of Success for ScanSource Europe Proves Business Model Works

January 2007 marks ScanSource Europes fifth anniversary. ScanSource Europe was founded five years ago and has grown into one of Europe's largest distributors of automatic data collection, EPoS and wireless technology solutions.

The success that ScanSource Europe has seen over the last five years is proof that our business model works, said Xavier Cartiaux, Managing Director of ScanSource Europe, and I look forward to the opportunities ahead in the next five years. We remain committed to our role as a trustworthy partner, dedicated to optimising the channel for the benefit of our resellers and vendors.

ScanSource Europe began life in January 2002 in an office above its state-of-the-art distribution centre in Lige, Belgium. Within 18 months, ScanSource had opened an office in France and expanded into the UK, as well as moving to a new headquarters in Brussels after quickly outgrowing its original office. German, Italian and Dutch offices followed in the next few months, and the companys sales presence moved into Spain and the Nordics. ScanSource Europe now has over 125 members of staff throughout Europe, and carries best-of-breed solutions from over 30 of the most reputable vendors in the industry.

ScanSource Europes business model, based on building trust in the channel, allows resellers to profit from the personal touch a local presence brings, while simultaneously reaping the rewards associated with pan-European distribution.

Our customers want us to be there for them on the ground, continued Cartiaux, but they also expect us to meet their demands for product availability and delivery. Wed like to thank our customers for their trust. Our growth is due to their business and their faith in our business model.
