NetOp Tech Ltd provides the answer to IDC analyst predictions with NetOp Mobile

Field personnel receive support for mobile devices including helpdesk assistance, file transfer and messaging

NetOp Tech Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Danish IT company Danware A/S, has announced the launch of NetOp Mobile, a remote control software package designed to support mobile devices within a mobile workforce.

The new product is an extension of the NetOp Remote Control system and provides enterprise level control for mobile devices such as Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs). NetOp Mobile can be used for securely transferring files, updating software, messaging and also has the ability to ask for technical support at the touch of a button.

Analyst firm IDC predicts the number of mobile workers will increase from 650 million to 850 million worldwide by 2009 (Worldwide Mobile Worker Population Forecast and Analysis 2005-2009). This means than over a quarter of the global workforce will be mobile. Each one of these workers will need to communicate with their respective headquarters, therefore creating the need for tools to support mobile devices.

One of the key features of NetOp Mobile is its potential for scalability, allowing businesses to add additional devices as and when they are needed. The number of phonebook entries and simultaneous uploads are only limited by disk space and memory respectively. NetOp Mobile generates only a small amount of network traffic and uses a non-polling communication engine.

The system is compatible with mobile devices using Windows CE 2003 and Windows Mobile 5.0, and is supported by a wide range of platforms using NetOp Remote Control Guest such as Windows, Linux, Solaris, OS/2 and ActiveX.

We see NetOp Mobile as a solution for companies who have large numbers of mobile users, such as sales and healthcare organisations or transport and logistics companies. said Mike Kibblewhite, Managing Director of NetOp Tech Ltd. This is one of only a few products available that can connect to devices running on cellular networks, proving to be an invaluable tool when managing large numbers of mobile devices.

Mike Kibblewhite, Managing Director of NetOp Tech Ltd said; NetOp Mobile is a complete, scalable and secure remote control software for IT professionals. We have priced this product competitively and have provided some excellent incentives, so we believe the market will respond well to the new offering.
