Bloxx, the UK manufacturer of web threat and filtering appliances has launched an expansion drive into Europe, opening a new office in The Hague. Headed up by European Sales Director Wouter Geertsema, Bloxx-Europe will recruit, manage and support mainland Europe partners.

With customers in both corporate and public sectors, Bloxx has been expanding rapidly this year, establishing itself as a favourite amongst larger network users. Bloxxs appliance approach to combined web threats allied to advanced web filtering is made even more attractive by the Bloxx policy of no cost per user charges. This policy provides network users in the 50 50,000 users, with clear cost savings as well as all the benefits of advanced technology.

Bloxxs Managing Director, Eamonn Doyle says We researched the market and identified an opportunity to spread the Bloxx story across Europe. With a mainland Europe base, we can offer sales and support services to clients, on a country by country basis. Our plan is to provide full local language support for our product going forward. European customers have the same attraction towards appliance based security solutions and the same aversion to cost per user charges!

Wouter Geertsemas priority is to secure distribution and reseller arrangements: We have already signed Black IP as a Dutch distributor and are in the process of negotiating with a number of partners across Europe. The large software vendors have had this market space too much to themselves; Bloxx is the product to meet the needs of IT managers who prefer all the benefits of appliance based secure products, without cost per user charges.

Bloxx does not rely on one technology to provide efficient web filtering but rather, uses a combination of Bloxxs url database; keyword scanning and Active Page Scanning which enables inappropriate sites not previously identified on the database, to be blocked at the point of request/page download.

Bloxx Europe offer resellers full sales and installation training to help promote the Bloxx range. Attractive margins await committed resellers and this is further enhanced with excellent recurring revenue opportunities. The Bloxx range of appliances support from 50 users up to 50,000 users as well as providing High Availability and Load balanced solutions. Typical resellers have IT Security experience or support large networks.
