TRANSACT TECHNOLOGIES RECEIVES PATENT FOR TWO-COLOR PRINTING TECHNOLOGY

TransAct Technologies Incorporated (Nasdaq: TACT), a leading producer of transaction-based printers for customers worldwide, today announced that it was recently awarded U.S. patent no. 6,934,054 for its most recent patent application relating to two-color printing. This is the fifth U.S. patent the company has received for its two-color printing technology.


Bart C. Shuldman, Chairman, President and CEO of TransAct Technologies, said, TransAct continuously strives to enhance and protect its state-of-the-art printer technology. This latest patent includes technology that converts a full color image to a two-color image for printing, for example, on a thermal printer. This technology will enable customers in our target markets of gaming, lottery, POS, and banking, as well as multiple other industries to design an image or promotion on a PC and then convert it to two colors for printing on a two-color printer. TransActs invention makes it simpler to utilize images and promotions on receipts and customer tickets.
