Datalogic UK has today announced an initial order to supply over 12,000 of its Touch series of bar code scanners to Ingenico. Ingenico is the world's leading manufacturer of electronic payment solutions boasting a population of over 7.5 million installed terminals. The Datalogic scanners will be used on a specially produced version of Ingenicos countertop payment terminal running alphyra software.
The combined solution is being rolled out to alphyras 20,000-strong network of UK retailers. alphyra provides electronic and prepayment solutions to the largest independent agent network in the UK under the companys PAYzone brand. Datalogics scanner and terminal are being manufactured in PAYzones distinctive rhodamine red branded colour. The scanner will read a variety of bar codes, from those on utility bills to menu cards for mobile phone top-up vouchers.
