Adaptec, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADPT), a global leader in storage solutions, today announced it is expanding its relationship with IBM (NYSE: IBM) to deliver Adaptec-branded RAID controllers and connectivity products for IBM's eServer iSeries and pSeries servers directly through the IBM channel.
"Today's agreement is a natural extension of the agreement we made with IBM for RAID intellectual property and the delivery of Adaptec RAID controllers for IBM's eServer iSeries and pSeries servers," said Robert N. Stephens, president and chief executive officer, Adaptec. "This new opportunity gives IBM's iSeries and pSeries reseller customers the ability to purchase Adaptec-branded products in the channel."
Under the terms of the agreement, Adaptec will sell Adaptec-branded technology through IBM to its channel partners. This arrangement furthers Adaptec's position of providing IBM customers with scalable and comprehensive storage solutions for the IBM eServer family. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
