EuropData Connect (EDC) is proud to announce the launch of several new channel programmes this autumn. Since establishing its new Scanning and Terminal and Printer and Verification divisions in July 2004, it has been possible for the company to focus on new product developments and customer support. To coincide with this activity a new product guide has been produced. This guide enables EDC to highlight some of these exciting new offerings.

Symbol

Symbol Technologies' new scanners, launching this autumn, will add new depths to EDC's product range and set standards for many applications. In addition to the scanner and terminal technology Symbol has always been known for, the dramatic rise in sales of the wireless products is developing them towards another dominant position. The wireless switch and 802.11 products enable Symbol to move directly to compete in the mainstream IT marketplace.

Psion Teklogix

The new partnership launched on 1 September with Psion Teklogix will allow EDC to add the new Workabout Pro terminal to its range of mobile computing tools. Psion Teklogix has traditionally had a loyal customer base that developed many innovative offerings using the Workabout terminal. Originally using the EPOC programming tools, the new Workabout Pro is available with Windows CE compatibility. The clever modular design will allow precise configurations to be offered. This product, which is available with monochrome or colour displays, also has the ability to be sold with or without a scanner,GPRS, orRFID reader.

HHP

Hand Held Products (HHP), continues to increase its market share within the terminal and scanning markets. HHP has built its scanning development around the linear imager rather than laser scanner. More applications in the transportation and logistics arena expect to use linear imagers. Capturing images as well as reading barcodes, then transmitting the information back to base online, is a constant request. EDC has worked with many integrators to provide these solutions.

Datalogic

Datalogic after gaining the enviable position of number one for its sales in the European laser market has now added the Bluetooth Gryphon to its strong product line-up. Then it announced the launch of the Heron and Firescan scanners. These products will certainly ensure that Datalogic continues as a major supplier in the scanning marketplace.

PSC

PSC has launched a new PDA device and terminals. Its product range has gained much support from the dealer market during the last two years. With new wins and new products PSC is steadily gaining ground on its competitors. From the hand held scanners to the high-end bi-optic scanners PSC offers a comprehensive line up for the market to select.

MCL

MCL Technologies is able to provide comprehensive software and hardware products in order to enable, facilitate and accelerate the design of data capture solutions and their connection to host applications. EDC is able to offer a complete design, training,  development and support service for all
MCL products.

Support

EDC is able via its EDCare professional services team to offer a dedicated support facility. This now includes, marketing services, software development and training, product training, 802.11 site surveying and commissioning and not least financial support services.

It is the aim of every buyer to purchase products at the lowest price possible. EDC as a distributor tries to   insure that all of its partners are able to buy at the most competitive rates available and the firm has restructured to make this possible. By separating each element of the support function, the partners are able to decide what they want to buy and what they want to deliver themselves.

This is also being combined with the next phase of development at EDC. From each country office, UK, Holland, Sweden, EDC will be able to offer an extensive range of repair and maintenance contracts. This should provide complete peace of mind to the partners who are unable to offer on-site or quick response repair contracts to their customers.

For further information on any of these specific services or to be kept informed of the new services, partners are encouraged to register on the company's website www.europdata-connect.com The site has been designed to be one of the most complete and up to date auto-ID websites available. The site combines the latest product news, training aids, streaming video clips, full product data sheets, industry news feed, and links to every major supplier. In addition to the public-access site, a new dealer-only site is available for registered partners. Here more detailed technical and commercial information is available.

Moreover, EDC is able to offer a multilingual support and sales team, which enables its partners to clearly discuss their requirements, overcome problems and deliver the best solutions at the right time and price.
