ClearCube brings PC blade revolution to UK

ClearCube Technology, the market leader in and pioneer of PC Blade computing, has announced its expansion into the UK, unveiling a new sales channel partnership and the addition of a Global 50 European customer.

Elcom Information Technology Limited joins the ClearCube Authorised Reseller program and will work with ClearCube on serving the technology needs of public and private sector organisations.  Through this partnership, a ClearCube solution has been deployed at a major US Bank's new trading floor in London's Docklands, worth $0.5m

Elcom IT joins BladeTec and IBM Global Services as ClearCube's preferred UK channel partners.  ClearCube has also built its sales presence in London, with three direct salespeople as well as a technical sales engineer, who in addition to direct sales will support the Authorised Reseller Program.

"ClearCube provides the flexibility, manageability and high availability that our customers need at the desktop.  PC Blades improve service levels and reduce desktop operating costs," said Tony Davis, Managing Director of Elcom IT. "This architecture represents a logical next step in the evolution of banking technology and desktop computing. It allows for better business-continuity planning and more effective support of companies with geographically dispersed locations."

The ClearCube solution allows companies to take the computer off the user's desk, shrink it to a PC Blade, centralise the blades in a secure location and use software tools to remotely manage and switch between computers and users. The ClearCube Management Suite (CMS) enables a "touchless IT" environment where IT managers can remotely manage and control global desktop deployments.  By deploying ClearCube, customers realise 99.9% uptime, stronger data and physical security, and at least a 40% reduction in support costs while providing end users with a full PC or workstation experience.

In order to provide users with the computing power they need to work efficiently, financial institutions often have multiple PCs running two to four monitors at each trader desk.  With the ClearCube quad-monitor solution, traders can run as many as four monitors from a single PC Blade that is remotely located.  On trading floors, where traders have limited desk space and the need to run multiple applications, the quad-monitor solution is the first of its kind to meet this need.

"Elcom IT is a great fit with ClearCube's European expansion strategy.  They are one of the top ten corporate IT resellers in the UK and have the experience to meet the demanding needs of business and government customers," said Raj Shah, Chief Marketing Officer at ClearCube.
