Weaver & Bomfords future proofs print with MPS Monitor 2.0

MPS Monitor, the company that develops and distributes the leading platform for the remote monitoring and management of printers and multifunctional devices, has announced that Weaver & Bomfords – the office supplies business – has standardised on MPS Monitor 2.0, to enable its clients to drive greater efficiencies from their print, while enjoying greater insights into their print volumes and costs.

The Cheshire-based business, which can trace its roots back almost a century to 1922, offers its clients solutions and services ranging from photocopiers and network printers to Managed Print Services (MPS) and Document Solutions. Today, two thirds of Weaver & Bomfords customers are benefitting from the accessibility, flexibility and security that MPS Monitor 2.0 delivers.

Sue Lenton, managing director of Weaver & Bomfords, explains why MPS Monitor 2.0 was chosen for its needs. “We’re always looking at how we can offer our clients value, and by providing an outsourced print management solution from MPS Monitor we can remove their print burden so they can get on with running their business. From a customer's point of view, they haven't got to maintain or manage toner supplies as it simply gets delivered and marked up for the right machine, so they know that it will be there as they need it.”

MPS Monitor makes data and information easily accessible, which is unlike other solutions that require a fair amount of technical knowledge in order to be able to access the information and reporting data. MPS Monitor makes it easy to get a proper snapshot of a fleet’s status, so problems or issues can be identified straightaway. “It's really easy to find the information that you need. Overall, MPS monitor offers us much more by giving you a business management tool that can be used easily,” Sue added.

An additional benefit of MPS Monitor is that it offers customers multi-connector availability so it can run on more than one device. As long as the connector is installed, users can see devices and the network hierarchies. Furthermore, integration with third party applications – like CRM systems - is another MPS Monitor strength, as Sue established. “We were quite an early adopter of MPS Monitor and we were using it with Asolvi Vantage. At the time, there wasn't actually an official connector for us. But MPS Monitor listened to us and developed one pretty quickly and then helped us to get it set up. The integration with MPS Monitor made the complex process of changing from another provider straightforward. They also helped us to perform a bulk update to minimise the tasks involved.”

Commenting on the deployment, Nicola De Blasi, CEO of MPS Monitor, said “Many businesses are recognising that the pandemic has changed how we print and how we view print, especially given the hybrid working model that many businesses have adopted. This calls for a new, flexible approach to print monitoring if print is going to be secure, accountable and under control. Weaver & Bomfords is a shining example of how a company can accomplish that using MPS Monitor, even under the challenges and uncertainty of a pandemic. We’re very excited about our relationship with Weaver & Bomfords, and how it will flourish in the future.”

With its cloud-based architecture, vendor-agnostic approach, security focus, and direct integration with HP Inc.'s Smart Device Services (SDS) and Microsoft Universal Print (UP), MPS Monitor is ideally suited to meet the evolving needs of the hybrid workforce.

Endorsing MPS Monitor are some of the industry’s most respected organisations, including IDC. It considers MPS Monitor “a strategic player in the market, providing added value to customers and channel partners alike with a robust solution that offers capabilities beyond traditional device management platforms.” Meanwhile, Quocirca included it in its Print Security Landscape 2020, stating that “MPS Monitor 2.0 is a cloud-based print management platform that offers a robust solution for MPS providers and channel partners to provide integrated print management to their customers.

” Furthermore, the platform has also been featured in Quocirca’s Cloud Print Services Report 2021 and in the podcast series “In The Spotlight with Quocirca.” Additionally, in 2020, Keypoint Intelligence awarded the platform with a Platinum Rating, and with a BLI Pick Award for Outstanding Fleet Management Solution. MPS Monitor also earned a Security Validation Testing Seal for its security capabilities on HP devices.

The company recently announced collaborations with key technology industry leaders - including Microsoft, HP, Okta, Asolvi and Zebra Technologies – which has seen the company successfully meet the rapidly evolving print fleet management needs of dealers and MPS providers worldwide.
