Heimdal to recruit hundreds of resellers with launch of new partner programme

Heimdal Security – which aims to disrupt the market for endpoint and network protection – has set out to recruit hundreds of new resellers in the UK and Ireland over the next few years with the launch of a new partner programme.

Its Channel Partners Accelerator programme offers a more structured approach to collaboration, with clearer benefits to attract value-added resellers (VARs) and large account resellers (LARs).

It includes free training for technical and sales staff, a new referral programme and ‘one of the industry’s most exciting land and expand business strategies’. Heimdal is also offering three competitive levels of margin, depending on whether the deal is generated by the partner, its own sales staff or – unusually – a collaboration between the two.

The initiative is part of ambitious expansion plans by the Danish-based company to make the UK its biggest global operation. Its growth drive started early this year following the launch of a new office in Leeds, the appointment of Ruth Schofield as Country Manager and that of Brigantiaas its master distributor in the UK and Ireland.

Since then it has built a network of over 100 MSPs and 25 resellers, and is currently signing up several new partners every week. The company expects channel partners to account for over 50% of revenue from the end of 2021 and beyond.

Ruth Schofield said the programme represented a ‘unique opportunity’ for resellers: “We are looking for a few hundred good partners who are willing to learn about our products and how to pitch them so their prospects and customers can realise the optimum benefit. In return they can expect ongoing support and a true ‘land and expand’ opportunity, as the breadth of our product range makes it easy to win additional sales from the same customers and streamline their operation.

Established in 2014, Heimdal is recommended by Microsoft and has been praised by the FBI for helping to bring down the original Cryptolocker ransomware. Its cybersecurity suite comprises network and endpoint threat prevention with DNS security, software inventory, patching, next-generation endpoint detection, privileged access management, application control, email security and email fraud prevention and - launching very soon – remote access.
