Awake.AI has launched a user-friendly Berth Planning tool that the company claims is going to revolutionise port operations for good by improving collaboration between all port actors.

Today, there are many actors involved in a port call process, tools are not user friendly, and some steps in the port call planning process are still manual. Manual port call planning leads to poor collaboration, longer waiting times, more emissions and higher cost to all actors involved. Ports do not have a clear overview of the vessel traffic and operational status.

Berth Planners AI-empowered predictions provide excellent insights on arriving and departing ships, suggest the most efficient berth option and give warnings when the berth is double booked or there are security or resource issues, as it is fully integrated with other port IT systems.

Berth Planner helps Port of Gothenburg to become world's most competitive port

The Port of Gothenburg is the largest port in Scandinavia and aims to be one of the world’s most competitive port. They want to ensure Swedish industry’s access to the whole world and as a result have chosen Awake.AI’s Berth Planner solution to enhance their digitalisation.

“Berth Planner helps us to become the world’s most competitive port and of course a smart and connected port. “Martin Johannesson, Head of IT,  Port of Gothenburg, sums up.

“In its core it is a berth planner but the expected positive effects are twofold. An intuitive and effective platform for our operators makes the job of planning port calls more efficient. But combined with the ability to share and visualize the berth plans to the port call stakeholders it is an important building stone for common situational awareness to the current state of the port call. An insight many local actors have been requesting for years.“ – states Fredrik Rauer, Traffic Coordinator, The Port of Gothenburg.

Awake’s Berth Planner helped the Port of Gothenburg to plan and visualise berth plans with AI-empowered accuracy in just a few months’ time.
