Advanced has signed a reseller agreement with GT Software as part of plans to boost its extensive range of modernisation and integration solutions.

GT Software is a US-based specialist in IBM mainframe modernisation and the developer of Ivory Suite, a no-code drag-and-drop solution which easily creates API integrations for IBM mainframes. Advanced will be the exclusive partner for both delivery and support in the UK.

The partnership will bolster Advanced’s application transformation and integration proposition, which helps large businesses address legacy challenges as well as understand, modernise, integrate, transform and optimise or release the potential of legacy applications through successful migration. Ivory is a great addition to Advanced’s portfolio of existing software and services portfolio and a perfect complement to the existing Application Modernisation portfolio – focused around its App Integrate solution – by expanding its integration offering to organisations running important applications on the IBM mainframe. The partnership will initially focus on the UK but has scope to expand into Europe.

Application modernisation is a core area of growth for the business, which was bolstered in March 2018 by the acquisition of Information Balance, a developer of IT solutions to enable large scale application development and migration across mainstream technology platforms.

Advanced is already working with large corporates around the world including ProRail in the Netherlands and the Department for Work and Pensions in the UK.

Tim Jones, managing director – Application Modernisation – at Advanced, says: “We’ve had significant success helping organisations integrate or migrate from legacy systems – such as VMS and VME – to more modern technology environments. But as digital transformation accelerates across all organisations, we recognise that IBM mainframe integration can help broaden our portfolio. GT Software’s integration tool will help us accelerate our application modernisation plans and boost the value we can offer to customers, allowing them to extend the value of their existing investment in IBM mainframe systems.”

“Advanced has an excellent track record in application modernisation and migration in the UK. Partnering with Advanced gives us a strong and effective route to market in the UK (and Europe). We’re confident this will help to replicate the success we’ve already achieved in North America. Businesses all over the world still operate complex IT infrastructures, made up of dated, long-standing yet proven legacy systems, but that doesn’t mean they don’t want to innovate,” comments Wilson Rains, Vice President of Global Alliances at GT Software.

“Ivory Suite is suited to complement this reality, allowing such companies to modernise and, in conjunction with Advanced’s expertise and experience, integrate new digital projects alongside legacy applications on IMB mainframes with minimal risk and disruption.”
