Schneider Electric has announced the European launch of EcoStruxure IT for Partners, opening the way for IT solution providers to develop new and recurring service revenues by managing data centres, distributed IT and edge facilities.

The explosion of data, together with the growth of IoT and cloud computing has led customers to create hybrid ecosystems including on-premise data centres, distributed IT or local edge, and public and private cloud. IT equipment is moving back on-premise to meet the bandwidth and latency requirements of critical applications. Therefore, remote management of increasingly complex network architectures is becoming an issue for end-user customers.

EcoStruxure IT for Partners enables customers to securely outsource monitoring, maintenance and other services to support the availability of physical infrastructure as well as IT devices to their preferred solution providers.

Available in Europe for the first time, EcoStruxure IT for Partners provides an open, cloud-based, multi-tenant platform developed for IT solution providers focused on data centre and distributed IT sites. The secure platform is enabled by EcoStruxure’s predictive analytics and will host applications and tools for solution providers to build new, recurring service offerings and business models.

Cloud-enabled management brings advantages such as the collection of large amounts of data in one location, monitoring and management from a single device or location, and big data analytics.  If harnessed properly, these advantages can improve how IT and data centre equipment and infrastructure are monitored and managed, and provide deeper insights that will both optimise usage of data centre equipment and extend the equipment lifecycle.

The first EcoStruxure IT application being made available today is the cloud-based monitoring application called EcoStruxure IT Expert. The application enables IT solution providers to deliver a remote monitoring service empowered with real-time data and proactive recommendations, reducing meantime to repair and improving system availability. Leveraging big data and intelligent benchmarking from distributed IT environments to the data centre, EcoStruxure IT Expert provides a faster and easier way to deliver the services and support required by customers as they grow more dependent on their critical IT infrastructure.

“EcoStruxure IT Expert provides a secure foundation for partners to deliver additional and monetisable value to their customers,” said Kim Povlsen, Vice President of Digital Services & Data Centre Software, Schneider Electric. “It’s a game changing opportunity for partners to strengthen their customer relationships by delivering insight into the functioning and efficiency of compute facilities, while offering higher availability and potentially lowered service costs as new capabilities are added through EcoStruxure IT for Partners.”

EcoStruxure IT Expert key benefits include:

  • Vendor-neutral and multi-tenant monitoring platform enabling partners to grow their services offer to include power and cooling.
  • For customers not under contract, partners can resell this simple to deploy Software as a Service offer for additional recurring revenue.
  • Global visibility into their customers’ infrastructure – in the cloud or at the edge – with data-driven recommendations to improve performance and efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Global view of inventory, alarms, and recommendations to resolve; also with analytics and benchmarking.
  • EcoStruxure IT software platform is currently available in English, Spanish, Italian and French. Other languages will be available over the next quarters.

“IDC views the EcoStruxure family as a transformative platform that changes the core way that datacenters are monitored and managed.” Said Jennifer Cooke, Research Director for Data Center Trends and Strategies at IDC.

As part of Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure architecture, EcoStruxure IT operates on all IoT-enabled physical infrastructure assets like secure power and cooling — including the new Smart-UPS with APC SmartConnect, a cloud-enabled UPS, designed to be fast and cost-effective for deployment in small, distributed environments and compatible with popular industry Remote Monitoring and Management platforms.
