Canon, the imaging solutions provider, has announced the release of three new multifunctional printer ranges, the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C255/355 series, the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C3500 series, and the imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4500 series.

The new range replaces the successful C250/350, C3300 and 4200 series respectively and offers significant improvements in reducing the cost to serve for partners while addressing customers' total cost of print.

A powerful platform

The new devices operate with the latest imageRUNNER ADVANCE platform, which is shared with the already established 6500, C5500 and C7500 series. The shared platform becomes an integral element as the technology aspect of any successful MPS rollout. Specifically, with the launch of the new imageRUNNER ADVANCE C255/355 series Canon is replacing one of the most commonly deployed products in managed print service deals.

Thanks to the new technology within the new device, A4 functionality gets even closer to the more sophisticated A3 devices. Packed full of value in a compact footprint, it is ideal for balanced deployments. The shared platform is designed to help partners become the experts across a range of devices for all environments, meaning they can easily provide a tailored and optimised solution that maximises their customers' return on investment by lowering the total cost of print.

Increasing profitability

The new imageRUNNER ADVANCE models join the already established third generation devices and represents Canon's most serviceable technology offering. From installation, fleet management, diagnostics and remote services, all the series offer the tools required to reduce the cost to serve associated with providing document handling solutions.

Canon has built the imageRUNNER ADVANCE system around an intuitive servicing infrastructure. Engineers and fleet managers can check the status of devices and access information about any required maintenance remotely via PC or mobile devices, improving response time and increasing the likelihood of a first-time fix.

When rolling out any of the third generation imageRUNNER ADVANCE models the cost of installation and configuration across an entire device fleet is minimised thanks to many features being standardised. The installation process is further expedited thanks to central setup and maintenance of device settings, applications and licensing.

Lengthy training processes are also a thing of the past thanks the platform's shared experience. For users, this guarantees a consistent look and feel no matter the size of the device (desktop A4 or departmental A3 machines) meaning that even in the largest organisations, the printing, scanning and document management processes are the same on all devices, right down to the personalised menus featured on the stunning and responsive colour touchscreens.

Reduce your inventory

With the new imageRUNNER ADVANCE C255/355 and C3500 series, Canon helps businesses to reduce stock holding, saving on associated costs. With parts that are common with the predecessor models, such as toner and drums, businesses can efficiently switch to the new machines without the worry of excess stock. On the new imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4500 series there are common finishing options with the existing imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5500 devices, meaning fewer lines will need to be ordered and kept on premises.

Performance you can count on

With the launch of the new imageRUNNER ADVANCE C255/C355, C3500 and 4500 series Canon is replacing some of its best-selling devices, the C250/C350, C3300 and the 4200 series. These lines have won multiple awards over the years and the new machines are based on similar tried and tested engine technology. As such, Canon is offering a warranty on initial and replacement drums for the C255, C355 and C3500 series.

Reduce service visits

To help partners to reduce their costs further by cutting down on service visits and travel costs, the imageRUNNER C255/355 and C3500 series offer the potential of customer replaceable parts. Based on the results Canon has seen on the award winning predecessor models that share similar engine technology, there is potential to reduce service visits for the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C255/355 series by up to 15.9% and up to 11.7% for the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C3500 series. This could help partners achieve cost savings and increase their profits on these new devices. In terms of the imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4500 series, this now offers long life parts reducing the need to change the drum or developing unit, keeping the device online so your customers productivity is kept high whilst reducing service needs.

"Working closely with customers and our channel partners we strive to continuously evolve our portfolio to meet their needs," said Adam Poole, Marketing Director, Canon UK & Ireland. "The imageRUNNER C255/355 and C3500 series add to our successful 6500, C5500 and C7500 series, providing organisations with the ability to manage and share documents and information seamlessly, thereby reducing administration time, cost and effort and boosting productivity.

Alongside improving the value customers achieve from Canon technology, the new imageRUNNER series simultaneously enables our partners to deliver improved customer service, more profitably. Our aim is to create a win win situation for our customers and channel partners alike, and we are confident our imageRUNNER ADVANCE range does this."

The new series will be available from February 2017.
