Epsilon, a privately owned global communications service provider, was selected by Cirrus Core Networks Inc., an developer of Network Function Virtualisation (NFV) technology for Mobile Network Operators (MNO), to support its NFV based LTE mobile core infrastructure platform with intelligent networking and cloud connectivity.

Cirrus Core Networks has already deployed two global hubs in Epsilon's facilities in London and Miami followed by Hong Kong and Singapore in the next two months.

Cirrus Core Networks' platform is a truly Revolutionary step towards NFV-based Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) for the delivery of next-generation mobile services. MNOs, mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs), IPX and machine-to-machine (M2M) operators benefit from a pay-per-use model that supports the efficient deployment and growth of mobile services. Its NFV platform is able to scale from serving only a few thousand subscribers to delivering an almost limitless number of M2M and Internet of Things (IoT) devices.

"Cirrus Core Networks has a unique model that will accelerate the deployment of M2M while removing barriers to entry across the mobile market. We are aligned in our vision for flexible and accessible infrastructure that is ready to serve some of the most exciting services in mobile," said Jerzy Szlosarek, CEO at Epsilon. "Epsilon's intelligent networking and cloud connectivity gives innovative businesses like Cirrus Core Networks a foundation to grow and maximise their potential."

Epsilon's Intelligent Network eXchange (eINX) will support Cirrus Core Network's global SIP trunking and SIP to TDM requirements for Voice over LTE (VoLTE). Its cloud connectivity platform will deliver simple, fast and private access to Cirrus Core Networks' cloud.

"We chose Epsilon because it has one of the largest interconnect bases and global network coverage of any operator in the world. Its facilities and intelligent networks are a perfect match for our disruptive business model and innovative solutions. MNOs want simple and flexible solutions for rolling out VoLTE, M2M and other next-gen services and Epsilon helps us to deliver that," said Adam Crane, CEO at Cirrus Core Networks.

Cirrus Core Networks offers Mobile Network Operators a fully hosted pay-as-you-go model for its virtual Evolved Packet Core (EPC), virtual IMS with VoLTE/VoWiFi, and management and orchestration (MANO) platform. The all-IP platform has been designed to remove the need for the CAPEX required for network hardware while enabling new scalability and flexibility.

Szlosarek said: "NFV answers some of the most pressing challenges in the mobile market and really opens the door to the next evolution in mobile. We believe it is critical that we play a role in helping to shape this ecosystem and support our customers' innovation."
