Information, communication and technology services provider Brother UK has launched new models in its ADS scanner range, a further milestone in its ambitions of becoming the leading scanner vendor.

The new models (ADS-2400N, ADS-2800W, ADS-3000N, and ADS-3600W), are designed to improve productivity and efficiency of document capture and workflow end users with high-volume scanning needs.

Network capabilities of the scanners mean multiple users can scan from a range of devices, without the need for a direct link to a central PC. This also allows scanned documents to be easily shared across teams and departments, supporting collaborative office environments.

The models offer two-sided scanning and features include near field communication (NFC)*, one-touch programmable scanning and advanced image processing to improve productivity. Compatibility with Brother's iPrint&Scan app, for connectivity with mobile devices is also included in the models.

In addition the range integrates with existing document management software with TWAIN drivers, KOFAX compatibility. The scanners are also equipped with Brother's Solutions Interface (BSI)** allowing third-party developers to build, or integrate with, customer solutions.

Brother is targeting SMB-sized organisations in the legal, education, healthcare and insurance sectors as key markets for its ADS scanners.

The news follows the launch of Brother's PDS-Flatbed range (PDS-5000F and PDS-6000F), at the end of last year. The models combine ADF scanning with a flatbed component for customers that demand high-volume and quick scanning while enabling them to scan a range of media including brochures, magazines and bound documents. Brother is targeting legal, education and insurance sectors for its PDS-Flatbed range.

Salim Hasan, technical product manager at Brother UK, said: "Given that scanning can be so central to day-to-day work as well as significant archiving projects, increasing efficiency and productivity is a key part of what end-users seek from scanner solutions to mitigate the extensive time needed to complete these tasks. As such this has been a central part of our design of these new models.

"There's considerable expansion of the scan market as an increasing number of businesses seek to ensure more paper documents have digital counterparts. For channel partners, there are significant opportunities to capture this growth across a broad variety of end-user customers."
