Cannon Technologies is celebrating after being named as one of 20 most innovative companies in the central south of England by BDO LLP, the accountant and business adviser. This latest accolade follows its previous recognition by BDO earlier this year as one of the central south's top 20 companies for international growth.

With a 36-year pedigree, Cannon Technologies has become firmly established as the leading international manufacturer of innovative containment systems for use in the burgeoning data centre and IT network infrastructure industries. Its award winning T4 Data Centre Solutions are used around the globe for organisations of all sizes and the company designs, supplies, integrates and commissions the IT architecture for military and commercial applications for mission critical projects.

BDO analysed companies with sales of between £10m-£300m as part of its Central South Mid Market focus and identified 20 companies that truly highlight the breadth of innovation taking place in the region. Arbinder Chatwal, director of BDO LLP, explained, 'The term "innovation" can encompass so many different things – research and development (R&D), new product development or process innovation. Cannon Technologies is a great example of a business whose success is underpinned by a desire to innovate in all areas of its business.'

Mid-market businesses have always relied on investment in innovation as one way to ensure they remain competitive, but in recent years innovation has moved higher up the board agenda as companies compete in global markets. Cannon Technologies was highlighted as a company that has used a consistent programme of innovation to retain market position and achieve sustainable growth.

Regardless of size, innovation and strong growth is common to those at the forefront of their industries. Cannon Technologies exemplifies this with its T4 Data Centre Solutions range, which in 2014 alone has introduced six new products including T4 Modular Data Centre Pods, T4 Granular Modular Data Centres and the T4 Data Campus. The range is widely respected in its own industry and appeared in the CRN Data Center 100 list, which recognises those technology vendors that power, support and protect today's data centre services in an environmentally and economically friendly manner, while boosting efficiency and productivity.

After receiving a plaque from Arbinder Chatwal of BDO LLP in recognition of its achievement, Matthew Goulding, managing director at Cannon Technologies, concluded, 'Our commitment to innovation is at the heart of everything we do and we are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved. We are therefore delighted to receive this award and extremely proud to have our work acknowledged in this way.'
