BRDGE allows App-Networking in new dimensions

Networking with common platforms such as LinkedIn can be extensively time-consuming. "Today, networking takes place on mobile devices and from human to human," says BRDGE-CEO Daniel Putsche during the Dublin Web Summit. The summit brings together the masterminds of the internet industry, and BRDGE presents a new dimension of networking: a global networking app that pools the right people and allows quick and easy business. The US-based company Layer adds the communication functions integrated into the app, which will initially be rolled out for iOS-devices. The app is available at www.brdgeapp.com/download.

When using the app to search for potential contacts globally or just around the neighborhood, a simple swipe on smartphone screen enables users to select somebody who is of interest to them. Users are only connected with the people they select if, when these people subsequently make their own searches, they too show an interest in connecting. No more time consuming messages of undesired contacts, and no need to sort through invitations to connect – which are often sent by people of no relevance. The app enables the search radius to be adjusted from worldwide to "on location", a mode that only conducts searches in the user's immediate vicinity. This means that digital networking can even be carried out at trade shows and events, making it easier to forge new contacts and saving visitors from having to hand out their business cards. What's more, a built-in messenger feature allows users to start chatting with the matches right away.

H2H is the new B2B and B2C

The app creators see themselves as continuing a logical trend and instead of categorizing their development as a B2B or B2C platform, they have designed a human to human or H2H solution. "When it comes to networking or business, it's people that count. We make decisions based on facts and personal impressions. That's the heart of our app, which connects people to people with matching interests," says Daniel Putsche from BRDGE. The Dublin Web Summit is the perfect location for launching the app. In fact, during the run-up to the event, the developers from Germany and their networking app were already becoming the secret stars of the show. In contrast to traditional networking solutions, the BRDGE app is not an add-on to a web platform but a stand-alone product which has been cleverly designed for optimum usability. By creating an app solely for use on mobile devices, BRDGE has ensured that the profile information is kept to a bare minimum, matching with the credo "efficient and accurate" which emerged during the development process.
