Maxatec is responding to retailers who are looking for suitable wireless printing solutions to use with Apple iPad systems. With the advent of iOS in retail the obstacle has been the ability to print directly at the point of service. With the Maxatec MT-200E desktop WiFi printer, the bottleneck has been cleared enabling retailers to enhance service levels, which is increasing footfall and business.
"One of the issues with iOS retail applications has been printing a receipt or copy of the customer transaction at the point of service. The mobile devices run software applications that are detached from the main EPOS network, but we've solved the problem by working closely with our printer technology partners and we can offer a range of desktop and portable printers available with iOS software development kits," says Steve Berry, Director, Maxatec.
"We've recently worked with a well-known high street retailer to deploy our MT-200E wireless single station printers for stores across the UK. We believe this is one of the biggest applications of its kind for wireless iOS printing. The printers simply plug in at the mains and communicate with iPads using the store WiFi infrastructure or Bluetooth. This flexibility will enable the retailer to take advantage of low-cost, quick to deploy printing solutions for its iPad assisted shopping solutions," he adds.
The Maxatec MT-200E is a high performance direct thermal receipt printer with WiFi connectivity. It is one of the easiest desktop printers to install and setup as there is no need to drill holes in walls for network cables or cause disruption on the shopfloor. It will print reliably at speeds of 200-mm per second and features drop-in paper loading and adjustable (50 to 82.5 mm) paper widths. This is a fully flexible printer suitable for high volume receipt printing applications in the retail and hospitality sectors.
